  • Comments Thread For: Rios Vows: I'm Looking at Finishing Manny Pacquiao

Manny Pacquiao (54-5-2, 38KOs) has his back against the door and Brandon Rios (31-1-1, 23KOs) has promised to push him through. Pacquiao suffered back to back defeats in 2012, to Timothy Bradley and Juan Manuel Marquez. If Pacquiao loses to Rios on November 23rd in Macau, trainer Freddie Roach will advise the Filipino star to retire from boxing.

In his last fight, almost a year ago, Pacquiao suffered a deadly sixth round knockout at the hands of Marquez. Some have said Pacquiao is no longer the same fighter, including Rios' trainer Robert Garcia. Not listening to the hype, Rios is training to face the best Pacquiao possible.

Anything can happen. Wasn't Marquez IV supposed to be a cherrypicked fight? And Mosley was shot against Margarito?

Remember this is Pac's first fight after the devastating one-punch knockout he suffered from the cherrypicked JMM. Who knows how Pac's chin is going to hold up? He was down twice in the JMM fight and showed real signs of a weakening punch resistance for the first time in years. Anything can happen in boxing.

Man, Rios is living on cloud nine boy. He is going to come in there thinking he is going to bully Pac around or something. I can see Pac treating him just like he did Hatton really.....like a total humiliation from the opening bell. I figured that if Rios played it kind of safe and used good defense, he would last until the 6th or 7th but the way he is talking, he will get brutalized from pillar to post until he is KO'd.

Hatton is leagues above Rios lol

I just hope Pac isn't shot. It's not impossible he would be after getting brutally KO'd at 34

Rios could be brutalized. I'm a little concerned about him. He's tough as nails. Hope this isn't more violent than necessary. Pacquiao's significant advantage in footspeed combined with his punching power and awkward angles are going to make this extremely perilous for Brandon.
