James Toney was injured sparring recently preparing for his upcoming contest for the WBC heavyweight title with Hassim Rahaman. This is the third injury that Toney has suffered since moving up to heavyweight, and coupled with the setback after the John Ruiz fight because of alleged steroid use James Toney may be set to retire.

Apparently James was sparring with Manny Pacaquio and suffered multiple concussions yesterday afternoon said Freddy Roach. "I should have none not to put him in with Manny, he was just too pumped after his win against Morales he is really just hitting way to hard right now."

James Toney has said he is going to take some time off and reevalute his situation. Of sparring with Pac-man he said "Man I really just didn't know what was going on, it was like the fists were coming from everywhere!"

Anybody who believes a featherweight is going to inflicted damage to a heavyweight is ***in nuttz. And then doing damage while sparring? Come on guys, go to an actual gym. No featherweight is going to hurt a heavyweight, that's crazy. They just don't punch hard enough.
