Stevens KO over Roman is the equivalent. if it was just about the punch then the same posters would be equally as impressed and hyped about stevens.
Stevens did not KO Roman with the same punch Matthysse KOed Dallas Jr with (I think thats what you meant).

Well, you saw why Stevens was the main event, it was a guaranteed KO. People wanna see KOs.

Somehow it was the main event over far more accomplised fighters.
They wanna paint the picture like it was 50 50, but it was nothing but. A

          Who cares if he's lost?
People put too much emphasis on an 0.
NBC is of course building him up because that's good for their sports network.
He can be their own explosive MW.... if he becomes a champion, then even better for them, if they can get him to stay.
Stevens is an NBC guy, Showtime and HBO would do the same

Hard to believe he got it over Adamek... but I think they put him on the main event billing to build him up.
They're in the build up process right now with him after that lay off and issues he had.
I just hope he fights some B level competition now, dunno if that'll be too much for him

which is exactly what ggg/ishida and matts/MDJ were, showcase fights. Its even worse in Matts case because the inital choice was Hank Lundy moving up to 140-a fighter so pathetic that posters said Adrien Broner was cherrypicking if he went up to 135 and fought Hank.

DO you sense any sort of different standard here? Not saying ggg and matts aren't good fighters but if poster JFD26 is right and the hype is about the punch then surely NBC is justififed to hype stevens the same way hbo/sho ahve done ggg/matts.

The Ishida fight was in Monaco and I have no idea what network it was on... some frenchie network.
No issue with him being the main event there since he was the biggest name there in his tuneup fight.
Dallas Jr was a replacement for Lundy.
Matthysse would have beat him the same, but we all saw and remembered what Lundy is. If his chin holds out he's a good boxer.
Yea, it was a tune-up fight. He was just fighting to stay active and maintain his WBC mando spot. That's why he fought Peterson at 141.

either way if other networks can market spectacular KO's occurring in showcase fights NBC ca do the same. if its about spectacular KO's stevens just provided one.

oh great... the most "explosive" middleweight in the world.
I can get that too by knocking out bums

I'm fine with it. He's an NBC guy and they want to build him up.
I hope he takes a B level guy next time to make him look that much better.
I also hope he just doesn't stick to NBC. There isn't another NBC show until November. If he wants a Golovkin shot, stay active and show you can keep producing these KO's against better opposition.
Hopefully HBO tries to put him on a card in September or early October.
