Comments Thread For: Koncz: Rios Isn’t a ‘Comeback Fight’ for Manny Pacquiao

Manny Pacquiao’s adviser says that he has been asked why Pacquiao will be facing a potentially tough opponent in Brandon Rios in a comeback fight that follows two consecutive defeats, including a stunning one-punch knockout loss this past December to Juan Manuel Marquez.

The answer, according to Michael Koncz, is “we’re not coming on a comeback fight,” he said at a Tuesday press conference. “I think the fight we had with Marquez … was the best performance Manny had in the past four or five fights. Unfortunately we got overaggressive.”

Pacquiao and Rios will meet in the main event of a Nov. 23 pay-per-view, a broadcast taking place in the ******** mecca of Macau, China. [Click Here To Read More]

Agreed. But mindset in the ring is part of the game too! Pacquiao's mindset is questionable. He gives the impression it's all fun and games...when a deadly right is just around the corner. Makes him look ******.

I would venture to say that this is most definitely a comeback fight, especially after consecutive losses. This still shouldn't be that much of a challenge to Pacquiao, I just want to see where his chin is.

course this isn't. This is the most valid fight he could've had. Why would anyone consider this a comeback fight for? He's fighting a warrior, who'll come straight forward to fight. A guy who's gonna move up in weight and go toe-to-toe and be in front of him all night.

You don't pick a Rios as a tuneup fight. What are you, crazy?
