Because he loads up too much? He uses tremendous energy when he's throwing combinations. He's swinging for the fences. Gets tiring.

That's why his output sometimes is very little because he is recovering and resting for his next burst. But then again he is undefeated so he must be doing something right. I just feel he should learn how to mix up the intensity of his punches so he can be more active instead of resting 1 minute of every round.

Because he punches with way too much commitment? a lot of boxers have thrown some heavy shots and never gassed, example Pacquiao vs. Clottey. If he is straining and getting tired after over committing to a few punches that means he was probably drained and didn't get the proper nutrients back into his system for energy.

Not used to being pushed. Too carefully brought along. No gruelling fights.

That was during a time when Pacquiao's conditioning was arguably the best, but Pacquiao actually changes up on his power, look at how he dismantled Cotto, he started off by touching him up a bit, getting Miguel to open up then mixing in power shots. Canelo on the other hand is throwing to take your head off.

its pretty simple why he gasses, he is draining himself for a size advantage so he cuts out meals and doesn't get enough nutrients into his system. Cutting weight the right way is a science and if done wrong it shows in the fight if done right you can still maintain your energy.

Canelo knows he has stamina issues, its why he doesn't really throw many shots per round or aggressively move forward. He isn't a high volume pressure fighter, and he probably eats a lot of mexican food year round which is not good for your conditioning especially pork.

Guys like Marquez and Barrera don't drink beer, they don't smoke and they don't eat unhealthy, guys like Morales and Vargas and Chavez jr drink, and eat unhealthy and balloon in weight and it shows in their fight when their stamina wears thin, just look at Chavez Jr against Sergio Martinez, he only pulled the trigger into the 12th round, he knew he was taxed from cutting down from 220 pounds and tried to conserve his energy.

Canelo looks like that because he's more sloppy.

He said mix up the intensity, which will actually help Canelo's stamina. Maybe we're thinking too much into this, Trout has a venomous style in which he'll give you impression that he wants to come forward but really is a boxer through and through. It's a tough style to deal with.

Actually, Trout helps people with stamina issues. He strolls around quite a bit!
