i was a bit fatigued but the reason why i let up a bit was because he hit me in the solar plex and winded me, it was the second time he got me in the fight but in the third it was bad

Heres my 8th fight, it was at Ringside Boxing Tournament in Kansas City. Its the biggest amateur boxing tournament in the world it happens every year. There were 1600 boxers and 1000 fights. Lots of states were there, Canada, Australia, Mexico, and a few other countries.

I met Kermit Cintron and took a pic with him, guys from his gym were fighting and he trained there wednesday and thursday and then headed down to OKC for his fight on Friday Night Fights. Kosta Tsyzus gym was there, Ponce De Leon's gym, Cintrons gym and Roy Jones Sr. I fought a guy who had Roy Sr. in his corner.

Im red corner, guy I fought was a giant, 6'3" while in 5'8" so I had to get dirty on him. I did a bit to much holding but i had to blast inside and keep him there and make it ugly. Plus they changed my time of my fight and which ring i was in, i had at maximum 5 minutes to run get gloved up and get in the ring. I almost got DQ'd for being late, yet somehow when i got there my opponent was gloved up, waiting and ready to go. It seemed shady i had ZERO TIME to warm up but it seemed like he knew ahead of time. Oh well I still thought I won.

Well, you did what you hadda in terms of aggression and closing the distance, and on the inside it looked like you were more effective tho. it was scrappy enough it was hard to tell. It's difficult to know what you could have done about him looking more effective on the outside though. He musta had 8 or 9" reach on you, and I'm guessing he'd got used to using that to win fights.

I'm assuming he was given the decision? If so it was 'cos his effective punches were more obvious, whereas most of yours were exchanges in which is was sometimes difficult to tell what was landing. It certainly wasn't a pretty performance and the judges may have (unfairly) favoured your opponent because of his preference for trying to box 'cleanly' at range - contrasted with your 'messy' infighting. I would say tho. that you did your best to take away his advantages with the skills you had available and that it was a close fight. Certainly measured in terms of effective offense, you certainly seemed to hurt him more than he hurt you, but it doesn't surprise me if it was scored otherwise.

I thought u won. I know amateur scoring is different so they gave him points when yall were holding and he was hitting you with those tap tap punches to the head.

When he does that put your head to his body and then duck down and throw to the body.

Funny thing was I thought of that fight first thing too - mainly just 'cos I'd been looking through Maravilla's old fights last night tho. It's an even bigger size difference innit though, the tall kid looks like he'd snap if you hit him too hard.
