Looks like Luis Carlos Abregu could return to the ring sometime in October, Top Rank matchmaker Bruce Trampler confirmed in an email to Boxingscene.com.
There were rumors a few weeks ago regarding Abregu and whom he would face. One rumor had Abregu fighting on the Top Rank card at Staples Center in Los Angeles on September 7th, but Trampler said was incorrect.
Instead, Trampler stated Abregu could possibly face once-beaten Wale Omotoso or unbeaten Brad Solomon.
The likelihood of Abregu fighting in October is very high. Top Rank has three dates scheduled for that month, October 5th in Orlando, October 12th in Las Vegas, and October 19th in Denver. The cards will likely be televised by HBO and HBO Pay Per View (October 12th card).
