    Experience at Ringside 2013

Anyone go to Ringside in Kansas City? Biggest amateur boxing tournament in the world.

I went for my first time 152 lb novice. There were about 1000 fights, 6 rings going on, 4 days of fights. My gym sent down 15 fighters, 5 made it to finals, 3 won belts and 2 or 3 others made it to semis and a couple of us got robbed.

I met Kermit cintron, he had guys from his gym fighting and he was there training and supporting them then he left thursday to go to fight on FNF's. Kosta Tsyzus gym was there, Cintrons, Roy Jones Sr's gym etc.

The guy I fought was 6'3" southpaw (im 5'8") who was trained by Roy Jones Sr. Still I think they robbed me. I was supposed to be bout 21 on ring 6, it was bout 16, I still had lots of time to go, I had just gotten dressed and my hands wrapped. I didnt warm up at all then I heard on the announcement, bout 21 in ring 6 is being moved to ring 4 immediately. I only had one coach with me the others were helping another guy fighting. Without warming up at all i had to run through the venue, get gloved up and get in the ring. My other coach ran over and made it on time. I think it was shady though because my opponent was waiting in the ring and warm and ready... it seemed that they told him earlier but not me. Anyways I still think I won but they gave the American the deicison over the Canadian. I will upload my video later.

    Anyone else go?

it killed it man... the fight happened so quick and was over like nothing. I couldn't savour the moment and I felt cheated. Kinda ruined the rest of the trip but it was a good experience to go there

        Ringside judges were horrible

We took our team of 5 kids this year as well. We came home with 3 out of 5. I am not complaining but feel we definitely got robbed on one of them. The judges were looking more for brawling then the real sweet science of boxing.
