We see it happen all the damn time, college baseball players turned NFL pros like Colin Kapernick, College basketball players turn to NFL players, college basketball to NFL, former track stars are a dime a dozen in the NFL. And no, NONE of those sports are the same at all, they're completely different.

When you're big and athletic enough succeeding in any sport is possible. And unless you've actually seen these super athletes you'll never understand, you think these guys are equivalent to Valuev, Ustinov, Price, the Klitschkos, Lewis etc? Fvvvvvvvvck no, they make them look like they're moving in slow motion.

Go watch some Lebron James highlights, how many 6'8 270lb men in this world can you imagine doing the things he does? Oh and Keep in mind an NBA rim is 10 feet tall.

Boxing is different from these sports though.. It is not a exaggeration to say Boxing requires more will power and dedication, heart and desire than any of those sports you mentioned. They are team sports.. your teammates can motivate you.. you are not in a blood combat like Boxing.I'm saying this not as a Boxing fan but as a fan of Sports in general.... Boxing is a tougher sport than ANY of these team sports you mentioned and requires more sacrifice.

You think some Jabroni swinging a bat knows about suffering as much as Marvin Hagler? You think these Helmet wearing ***s can just BECOME great Heavyweights if they started early? They can't. Helmet boys don't have that special piece God gave Joe Frazier,Lennox Lewis,Muhammad Ali, Wladimir Klitschko, Evander Holyfield.. No helmet boy have that 'piece'.

But we digress. The point is Anthony Joshua is stronger than Lebron James and that's the bottom line.

That doesn't make you a better athlete though, it just means your jack of all trades, master of none. You're not interested in a debate here, you just want to cling onto Joshua's nuts because you have some hidden agenda. Tell you what, I'll show you an athlete who is bigger, stronger and faster than Joshua....

        6'5
        275 lbs
ran 100 metres in 10.6 seconds
and could bench what most could squat

meet the most feared rugby player of all time. do I think he's more athletic than Lebron? **** off

You better believe these clowns will ignore this post like it never happened.

"It wasn't to be however, as a couple of solid punches from the Romanian led to two standing counts in close succession and he was retired by the corner"

All it took was a couple solid punches to undo this monster in a fight he had been winning.

Like I said before, British Heavies and glass jaws are like peas and carrots.
LOL to be fair that guy was a monster puncher. But Joshua was honestly lucky with the gold, had the azerbaijan guy come in shape, he would have cracked Joshua in the final.

          • Oh and another thing, Wilt Chamerlain ran the 100 Metres in 10.8, there were reports he benched up to 500lbs! was 7'1 and weighed about 275 lbs.

Has he ever shown the athleticism that Lebron has? I think not

The greatest athlete on the planet would still get knocked the **** out if they haven't got world class boxing skills in the ring. Athleticism can only take someone so far, then it's skills they've learnt through years of practice that takes them to the next level. No athlete can jump into a sport they haven't played before and compete with the best.

              • The only guy that can stop Joshua is Wilder. It will be the biggest fight in boxing history in 2016. Also LOL@ The LEBRON comments in regards to HW Boxing.

You need that inner fire and desire which OTHER SPORTS DON'T HAVE when it comes to boxing. The most cowardly boxer is still 100x more courageous than any NBA Player.

Isn't Kobe Bryant some NBA 'work horse' and 'tough man'. Compare him to Evander Holyfield..he's nothing compared to HW Legends.

Not one of these sports require the heart, dedication, desire and courage that boxing does.
