Comments Thread For: Arthur Abraham: Robert Stieglitz is Taking a Safer Road

Former champion Arthur Abraham (36-4, 28KOs) returns on August 24th in Schwerin, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Germany. He faces Willbeforce Shihepo (20-6, 15KOs) for the vacant WBO Inter-Continental super middleweight title.

Abraham says that he tried to get a trilogy bout with WBO champion Robert Stieglitz (44-3), who doesn't appear interested at the moment. Abraham won a twelve round decision over Stiegltz a year ago, but this past March Stieglitz got revenge when he stopped Abraham after four rounds due to a badly swollen eye.

I would be all for a trilogy except for the fact that stieglitz beat the hell out of abraham and stopped him in 4,,,,,

Abraham needs to get a legit win under his belt or at least 3 tune-ups for the 3rd fight to take place,,,

Fuck off Abe, you're done. Absolutely well and truly DONE. To think I was on the bandwagon of saying this guy was "the truth" back in '09.

Abraham had no actual reason going up in the super middleweight in the first place.

Abraham won the first meeting, Stieglitz took him by surprise in the second meeting. I'm not heavy on a trilogy but Abraham is right about Stieglitz, he wants no part of the top 10 SMWs.

I like AA but in honesty i have to say that in both fights STIEGLITZ showed he was phisically the stronger man.

Stieglitz won their second fight because he realized he could capitalize on Abraham's habit of starting slow. In a trilogy fight, assuming Abraham gives it his all from the opening bell, I see it being a war.

This fight deserves a third fight. Abraham looked like he was out of shape in the second fight.
