Comments Thread For: Donaire Slimming Down For 126 Start in November

Former WBO, Ring Magazine super bantamweight champion and 2012 “Fighter of the Year” Nonito “The Filipino Flash’ Nonito Donaire is slimming down to make the featherweight limit for his next fight which Top Rank promoter Bob Arum said would be on November 9.

Donaire said he doesn’t know who he will fight or even the venue but indicated “they probably will give me a fight in November at 126 pounds which I what I requested but aside from that I have no idea.”

Donaire told the Manila Standard that he “will fight for the title by next year against the winner of the clash between former champion Orlando Salido and No.1 ranked Orlando Cruz which was mandated by WBO president Francisco “Paco” Valcarcel after Mikey Garcia relinquished his title to move up to junior lightweight.

Not too much weight to lose. I wonder when he's going to start boxing training, that's going to be his next excuse

Glad to see Donaire back in the ring he will be a beast at 126lbs. And it looks like he retired Rigo. Not think he is getting anything but old

Donaire will do a lot better at 126. He looks soft at 122.

Ok your post confused me. This sounds sarcastic but not sure if serious...? Lol

Donaire won't be KOing people left to right at 126 and we seen how he fights when he can't KO his opponents. Good luck.

There are rumors that Jorge Arce wants to return to fight and if that is the case then Nonito could ask him to climb to the 126 and for sure Donaire would look again like a beast after knocking out the old and small Arce.

You know that it's a Ronnie Nathanielsz article when it's a Filipino fighter and he lists all of his accolades right at the beginning of the article: "Former WBO, Ring Magazine super bantamweight champion and 2012 “Fighter of the Year” Nonito “The Filipino Flash’ Nonito Donaire"

And why don't you proofread your article before publishing it. Several mistakes in there. You're not a poster from NSB and we will hold you to higher standards
