  • Comments Thread For: Orlando Cruz: Salido Had His Time, Now It's My Time

On the 12th of October at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas, two boxers will meet in a high stakes contest for the vacant world featherweight championship of the World Boxing Organization (WBO). Former three time world champion Orlando "Siri" Salido (39-12-2, 27 KOs) of Mexico will face Orlando "El Fenomeno" Cruz (20-2-1, 10 KOs) of Puerto Rico. The card will be headlined by a welterweight fight between Timothy Bradley and Juan Manuel Marquez.

Cruz wants to become the first openly gay boxer to capture a world title.

This whole pro-gay angle being constantly mentioned in articles pertaining to Cruz is highly counterproductive IMO. And people wonder why resentment towards gays is rife? Simple answer - stop fucking pushing the agenda at every opportunity.

Hopefully Salido (a real man's man) wins in style, so that we don't have to hear any more about Cruz and his degenerate lifestyle. Besides, I prefer to remember Cornelius Lock beating the shit out of him on the Mayweather-Marquez undercard.

Ya, how disgusting and unreasonable for Cruz to say nothing about his sexuality in the article and for the article to simply state that he 'wants to become the first openly gay boxer to capture a world title.'

Even if he overstates his sexuality, I hardly see how it's disgusting rather than simply annoying.

Would you guys have an issue with the press repeatedly mentioning that someone hoped to become the first black world champion when that issue was relevant? What is a legitimate basis for being perturbed in this case but not that case?

The difference might be that you are born with a race but you are not born a proud sodomite.

And your evidence that being ****sexual is a choice?

No one has ever shown conclusively that sexual orientation is a choice.

That's not what i said, it might or it might not. Being open about it and promoting it is a choice.

And what's wrong with being open and proud about who one is? Would it be wrong to be openly proud about being black? Would it be wrong to be openly proud about being tall?
