Lennox Lewis: What's your take on his career?

I personally think he's a ***** who ran from Tyson when Tyson was at the top of his game. The way he fought Tua was shameless, considering Tua is a midget and he's a giant.

    Anybody else?

Top 10 HW all-time, one of the best HW right hands ever, intelligent fighter later in his career, beat everyone he ever fought.

A bit soft but a strong HW champion compared to the guys we have these days.

I consider Lennox Lewis an excellent fighter that fought like a chess player, using his brains during his big fights. He had all the tools except a solid chin, and would present a challenge to many alltime greats.

I would say how ever, that a young Mike Tyson would knock him out early.

And oh yeah, what the hell is he supposed to do? Sit there in front of Tua and trade power punches with him?

There's this element of boxing called fighting smart and fighting to win. Those are both more important than pleasing a few people who would hate on you regardless.

Arguably the third best HW since Tyson! That's how highly I rate the guy (eg very highly). Rid**** Bowe is the best since Tyson, followed by Holyfield. But I honestly rate Lewis as third best since Tyson and definately in the top 20 all-time HW's!

this was one of the worst eras in boxing history, and saying lewis dominated it, doesnt mean a whole lot.

if getting caught with a good punch and getting KOd from it is a lewis weakness, then im sure he would not have lasted very long in the other prominent HW eras.

besides, this is also the era of business, softies, fight-dodgers, money-grubbers, whiners, complainers, vacationers, excuses, and dullness. and nobody personifies all that than lennox lewis.

It was Lewis who wanted Tyson, but Tyson never wanted to know.
Tua was far too dangerous to trade with, Steward and Lewis both knew that it was going to be a boring night before the fight even happened.
I would say it was intelligent boxing by Lewis, why trade with Tua, when it only favours Tua? it was a masterclass of boxing that night.

I don't think anybody is ****** enough to rate Lennox as an all-time top 5 HW, or even the best British fighter of the last 10 years (Hamed, Hatton and Calzaghe are much better). But he was a very good fighter and I do rate him as the third best since Tyson which is a huge compliment..

Rid**** Bowe shouldn't be anywhere near them, he chickened out of a fight with Lewis because he knew Lewis had his number.
                  That's unforgivable for a fighter.

Lewis has his number? Based on what exactly? The Olympic final?? Bowe had fought two more fights than Lewis that tournament (against tougher opposition than Lewis had too) yet still got inside a few times and rocked Lewis before being stopped prematurely.
