Comments Thread For: Alvarado's Trainer: Provodnikov is Tailor-Made for Mike

As BoxingScene.com reported earlier, Mike Alvarado (34-1) is going to face Ruslan Provodnikov (22-2) on October 19th at the 1st Bank Center in Denver, Colorado. Alvarado's trainer, Shann Vilhauer, admits he wanted an easier fight for his boxer, but he views the hard-punching Provodnikov as the perfect opponent, style-wise, for his boxer. Alvarado is the better boxer, which his trainer believes will be the key to victory. [Click Here To Read More]

If Alvarado slips away from his gameplan in the least, Provodnikov will make him pay. Some of those shots he hit Bradley with would put Alvarado to sleep.

I agree. I think it's going to look like the 2nd rios fight. Alvarado will pick his spots to brawl with provo and box him when mike has to. I got mile high by TKO. Should be a hell of a fight tho.

Alvarado is going to use a lot of movement I see him winning a late tko or a UD.

What does a lot of movement mean these days?

I feel sorry for Alvarado. He's going to get folded in his hometown...

Provodnikov bruises too easily, his defense is actually worse than Rios, Rios will at least smother you and roll with punches at times, Provodnikov does none of that. I don't think Alvarado has to move that much either, Provod ain't as methodical on the inside as Rios, I'm going with Alvarado comfortably and I wouldn't be shocked if he stops Ruslan.
