He's being forced to face Mikey by October, Bob already confirmed that Mikey is set for November, there something real strange going on here.

They can't strip Martinez if Mikey is scheduled to return to the ring in November.

The mandatory thing is ******, but let's be honest, which 130lber will make him money?? Which is what his promoter is yapping about.

Burgos just fought(no money), Gamboa is available(this will be an undercard on HBO or ESPN2 fight), Uchi is Available(possible big money fight), Mendez fights this month.

If he wants to make money and stay on this side of the globe, then the ONLY option is Mikey.

he lost it before he fought Lopez though. He should be the number one contender atm, I dont think they do the same for number one mandos who haven't fought in the weight class yet

JuanMa was actually at 126, but he showed up overweight.

I agree that he got two gifts in a row.

But as boxing fans we should want the powers that be to do the right thing in every situation. Not to try to right a wrong by doing another wrong.

Once again, this is about what's right, nothing else. Entertaining fight or not, Martinez, a champion, should have his pick.

Garcia is the best fighter at 126 and 30, but fucking "Rocky" over so Mikey can cut the line is bullshit.
As much as i love Mikey n i'm gunnin' for him, i would have to agree with this^^^^. I'm not sure i could respect a champion who takes away the option of another boxer if it wasn't legally mandatory. I'm callin' 'corruption' on Arum

Well, I agree with this statement. Martinez fought Miguel Beltran for the vacant title in Sept 2012 and at that time they were rated 7th and 6th in the WBO lists. There were 5 other boxers that deserved more to fight for the title left vacant by Broner (among those Burgos who was well ahead of both Beltran and Martinez but Valcarcel managed to get both there) and in a very close and controversial fight the Rican won that undeserved title (Beltran's title would had been also undeserved). Martinez won 114-113 in 2 cards and lost 111-116 in the 3rd card but Beltran was deducted a point in the 10th or 11th round for hitting in a clinch!!. To make things worse Martinez was gifted with a draw fighting Burgos in Jan. 2013 at MSG in New York where many people though Burgos won and again many thought Valcarcel helped Martinez so P. Rico could hold the only champ born in the island. The last fight of Martinez on Apr. 2013 was again a questionable split decision against Diego Magdaleno in Macao and again some may argue that Valcarcel was again behind the score that kept favoring Martinez. Maybe Valcarcel is getting tired of protecting Rocky and finally will let go and what better way than getting some cons$olation from uncle Bob.

Boxing has almost nothing to do with right and wrong, it is just the way it is. Garcia is getting rewarded for fucking up basically which to me would be the main issue. I really have no issue with a guy coming up being mandatory given there is not anyone they are overly jumping over or a champ being "forced" into a fight.

Plus this is a big opportunity for Martinez, looking at what is out there for him unless he is going to Japan what other fight gives him this sort of opportunity.

I guess it is glass half full or glass half empty~

Ask the top guys at 130, however weak they may be, if Garcia isn't stepping over them. And what do you call a mandatory if not a forced fight?

Maybe so, but "Rocky" ought to be left to decide what's best for him. I think we'd all like that as free adults.
