Comments Thread For: Sulaiman Applauds Chavez For Bringing in His Dad

WBC President Jose Sulaiman applauds the recent decision by Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. (46-1-1, 32KOs), who plans to use his father, Julio Cesar Chavez Sr., as a cornerman for the upcoming fight with Brian Vera on September 7th at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. Last week Chavez said he was going prevent his father from attending his training camps, stating the two of them had tension during last year's camp for the fight with Sergio Martinez. It will be the first time that Chavez enters the ring since last September's defeat to Martinez on September 15th.

I'm always leery of applauding anything that Sulaiman applauds, but just this one time I'll make an exception.

damn...sometimes i wish some of these newschool mexican fighters had the heart of chavez sr...

im not just talking about during the actual fight, but training and everything..i guess coming up the way senior did makes for the beautiful struggle.

i doubt morales would have went out like that against pacquiao and garcia..and even arreola against vitali.

Come on man, how the hell are you going to say they lacked heart?! If anything they don't have as strong of a chin as Chavez. Chavez' bone structure was something else.

Morales had a tough upbringing too and he never quit early on in his career. He's from the worst parts of Tijuana. And Arreola fought his heart out against Vitali, never stopped coming forward, until his corner stopped the fight not Arreola who stopped.

It's not that they lacked the heart of Chavez,

Sulaiman would applaud Chavez Jr for taking a leak (aided by diuretics, obviously).
