A parade of home-grown prospects, all in the infancy of their careers, will do battle at the latest Savarese Boxing card at the Bayou City Events Center in Houston on Aug. 1.
Lightweight Omar "Pinky" Tello (1-0, 1 KO) will be dedicating his fight to his cousin Demazo Tello who lost his life in a motorbike accident on July 17. Demazo Tello, 23, was an amateur middleweight who had competed at the state and national levels on several occasions. He was on the brink of turning pro at the time of his untimely death.
