More fighters need to learn how to fiight out of a clinch

I was just watching the Garcia vs Judah fight and Garcia let Judah off the hook getting clinched so easily while Judah tried to buy time.

Mayweather is the textbook example of how to fight out of a clinch. Use your forearms, use your head, grab his head and push down, hold his arm and punch him and in general make it rough on them.

Some fighters are afraid to fight out of the clinch, a lot of times you hear the ref say "fight out the clinch, fight out", with both fighters still tangled up, and in the end he ends up separating them anyway. It's really an art to be able to fight in and out of the clinch, it's an under appreciated art.

Remeber Floyd vs Mosley. Off the top of my head, that's a textbook example of how to fight out a clinch because all fight Mosley tried punching and clinching.

Floyd would pull Mosley head down and put all his weight on Mosley neck. That takes a lot of energy out of you. Also holding and hitting and remember when Mosley spazzed out and MOsley started talking to Floyd and he got popped? Well if you look closely, before that Mayweather got a lil dirty and held one of MOsley arms and gave him a good shot to the stomach and Mosley started spazzing.

good point.. i guess other fighters see it as it should be a common courtesy for fighters to not throw a punch out of a clinch .. boxing is protect yourself at all times tho ..

Hopkins is the sneakiest with it, he'd hit you with a lead or counter right hand, hold you and with mini seconds of the clinch he'll get a little room then throw a short chopping overhand right.

                Jump to 2:11,

he did it twice to Pavlik if you catch it. Hopkins has successfully done this plenty of times throughout his career but this is only a little example.

It's very hard to fight out of clinches. When a guy wants to clinch, even the best fighters who know how to fight out of a clinch let the ref break them to save energy. Tyson used to get frustrated when he was held, but soon realized that these big guys have long arms so I'll **** em and let the ref break us.
