It's hard to say. Berto would've obviously fought differently had he not been hurt, but Soto-Karass also might've changed his approach.

I don't think Berto should be banned from the major boxing networks now that he's lost once again. As I wrote in my column this week, he's been in some really fun fights. He'll probably be the B-side against whomever he faces next, but I'll tune in to see it. He's flawed, but he doesn't lack in heart.

We agree on this, but I don't know why you put injury in quotation marks. It was clear from how little he was throwing his right and from his facial expressions that he'd hurt his shoulder.

        short response: We'll never know

He was getting tagged before the injury even happened. But maybe it would've effected him on the later rounds, just can't tell given that Karass may have also responded diffferently, and Berto was not hard to hit.

He was looking shaky from the beginning of the fight. Something seemed off about him and then the shoulder injury happened. I actually think he fought better after the injury because he was survival mode. Ironically, when he started feeling it again, that's when he was knock down. I think Berto is decent skill wise but mentally he's weak. He believes his own hype. That's usually disastrous when you you're flawed as a boxer.

No, JSK, a slow, very methodical WW was hitting him at will. Berto has no defense and seems almost confused on how to defend himself against certain punches. He's now a gatekeeper.

Berto's inability to take a punch. That's his problem.
