Are people sleeping on Pacquiao vs Rios?

I understand the hype surrounding May/Canelo and Garcia/Matthysse but I feel like there's not much being said about this barn burner in the making. Both of them coming off of losses and trying to raise their stock should equate to fireworks in the ring. Yes, theres speculation of the winners of the aforementioned fights possibly facing each other but I feel like the winner of Pac/Rios could potentially be a great match for Matthysse/Garcia/ and of course, Mayweather. I intentionally leave Canelo out for the obvious reason (weight).. but then again could Pac/Canelo be made? Money talks and catchweights do as well. The favorite in that fight would be determined by their performances in their upcoming bouts. How about Rios? Him and Matthysse/Garcia would be crazy as well. We're at a point in time/boxing where there are some phenonmenal fights lurking around the corner. Pac vs Rios being one of them.

Pac has lost two of his last three fights anyway you look at it. His star has faded. Just look at places like philboxing, they don't even care about the fight. It is all Floyd all the time. A pac thread can hardly get past 2-3 pages on here unless it has Floyd's name attached to it somehow. The guy was a flash in the pan in terms of stardom.

Rios is a bum and he will not beat Pacman

Nobody is sleeping, this is simply a confidence boaster for Pac

Once the Canelo vs Floyd fight is out of the way the hype will go up. As you can see though, any thread with Pacquaios name in it still gets a lot of views... the fights still a long way away.

One thing for sure is that Mannys fight WILL be more exciting than Floyds unless Floyd gets hurt, which ain't happening.

The Floyd fight is never happening as long as Bob Arum is alive

Bob Arum's greedy pride will not allow it to happen

You wont even see Pac vs Lucas/Garcia

Arum is going to keep everything in house

I am still baffled as to why Pac licks Arums arse like a illegal immigrant slave

I think a flash is a bit harsh. That flash was giving Marquez work in that last fight before he got put to sleep. Bradley was blatant robbery.

pac v rios isn't a phenomenal fight. Its a made to order comeback fight designed to make Pac look great-which is ok given Pac is coming off a KO loss.

Its hard to get excited for a fight with it being so far off given the following circumstances:

              -Rios lost his last fight
-The fight is in Macau, not Vegas, so it wont get much hype in the US
-Bob has talked more about "building up china" then he has "manny's comeback"
-the fight is not ppv quality
              -the undercard hasn't been announced

The hype will pick up as the fight gets closer. HBO will give it everything. expect to see a lot of punches thrown and landing as long as the fight lasts.

The fight is so far away. It's hard to get excited about a fight in November when its still July.

yes to all of these. matthysse and garcia are both managed by al haymon and arum doesn't seem to do business with anyone in his stable. and them being with golden boy doesn't help either.

I don't think people are sleeping on it, I just think style wise, we see Pac picking Rios apart.

I hope we see something different but I think we see Pac just teeing off on Rios for how ever long it lasts.
