Ortiz had fought at ww prior to the floyd fight.

the got on the scales to determine who was bigger. It wan't determined 5 months prior on NSB. so there is a slight difference.

Dunn lacks a little thing called common sense.

Common sense would tell you that Rios would have at least 10+ pounds on Pac.

I'll guess Rios will be 15lbs heavier

But Ortiz had never fought at 147. In fact in his previous fight he wrangled with Berto over the catchweight, and successfully brought him down. That means he's too small for welter even in his own mind

Possibly. But lets make a determination in November, thats all. and lets not use as proof "ballons up in weight between fight". I think reasonable manny fans agree that reasoning is ridiculous.

It will also be Rios 1st time at 147. we will need to see if his power, even if he rehydrates 20+ lbs, comes up as well.

Speaking of that fight, it was a messed up situation imo. Ortiz ended up coming in bigger than Berto smh. Ortiz weighed in at 146 and Berto came in at 145.5. He then rehydrated to 161 while Berto rehydrated to 156. That catch weight was unnecessary.

He beat berto for the ww title.

I dont know if it means that but I'd agree Ortiz may not have fully adapted to 147 at the time.

Agree. I think Ortiz has a much easier time draining then muscle bound Berto though, so a lower weighin weight is probably easier on Vic even if he blows up more fight night.
