This is true. Theres a reason Floyd spends so much time in retirement and is always fighting "tune ups" The only reason he even took this fight is because he's tired of the media calling hi out on his blatant and constant cherry picking. I mean how many boxers have ever been called a coward on national tv on the top sports network? The amount of fights this guy avoided is the only thing legendary about him

I never said all of them would win easy but Hearns would crush Floyd, that is the overwhelming pick among Boxing insiders. Floyd has never fought a middle of the ring inside fight against anyone and even attempting it would be hilarious to watch against Hearns. And there is no damn way in hell Floyd outboxes Hearns. Leonard couldn't, Benitez couldn't, no way does Floyd. That leaves him turning into a puncher. A - he is not a puncher, B - he does not fight inside in the middle of the ring and Hearns does not fight him inside while he is along the ropes. You also clearly have not seen a number of Hearns fights. He had a massive inside left hook and could fight inside and floored guys with the left hook. There are NO ***ING EXITS for Floyd. He WOULD NOT outbox Hearns and he would NOT overpower Hearns!!! End of discussion!!

You have said you view numerous times that really changes nothing. Hearns didn't crush Benitez though and lost to Leonard, so you obviously think Floyd is worse than Benitez because Benitez couldn't do it Floyd can't but if FLoyd is better than Benitez that doesn't leave much room for error with Hearns does it.

You think Floyd is getting taken out with a left hook from an orthodox fighter? SO what Hearns has one weapon inside that is an easy punch to negate, if Floyd gets it to the point that Hearns is looking to land a hook like that Hearns lost~

I thought Roberto's comments said more about him than they do about Mayweather or this era. I realize since he's commenting directly on Mayweather some will erroneous conclude he's really addressing Floyd, I simply don't agree with this. It isn't unheard of to hear a retired champion gauge his past skills and the skills of his past adversaries against a current crop of talent.

So imagine what it's like to look from the sidelines through the eyes of a former champion. All they have are their legacies to keep them comfortable but that's a cold kind of comfort when measured against fame and riches. What good is a great legacy if you're broke? I see him looking at what Mayweather the businessman has done and he's hating on that, the fact he wasn't smart enough to do what Floyd is doing must make his stomach turn. I mean to simply level an unfounded charge of the superiority of his era is pretty weak because its something we can't actually test. And as such so much deeper than one fighter calling another out.

A lot of fighter's end up broke in the end, all their money squandered on useless baubles and bloated entourages. When the spotlight turns away and all they're are left with are the pains and the many memories of a brutal career there's bitterness that remains too. It must be so hard for former champions to look from those sidelines, not as fans cheering on, but as faded relics second guessing the present, probably they mostly wonder about what could have been.
