    Comitan, Chiapas, Mexico - Former champion Cristian Mijares (48-7-2, 23 KOs) scored a sixth round technical knockout over Carlos Jacobo (20-6-1, 16 KOs) in a bout fought at a max-weight of 128-pounds. Mijares returned for the first time since losing a split decision victory to WBC super bantamweight champion Victor Terrazas in April. Terrazas will defend his title against undefeated mandatory challenger Leo Santa Cruz on August 24th at the StubHub Center in Los Angeles. Mijares would like to get his hands on the winner.

      Man, since his run as a top P4P fighter he's been screwed over quite a few times. Really should have won two more titles quite clearly already, but he's been given the short end of the stick.

      He definitely won the fight against Terrazas. That much was clear. Hopefully he gets another shot and comes in in magnificent shape and shows who won it. He deserves it.

      Unfortunately, considering he's now fighting at nearly 130 pounds, he's obviously not taking training seriously and even if he does get another title shot, I'd be surprised if he did really well. He's getting older and obviously not training much anymore either.
