no, u are very wrong. the atomic bombs definitely stopped the war. soviet involvement didnt even reach japan. there were many in the japanese government who wanted to continue fighting and those officers staged a coup that failed, but it was in fact the bombs that stopped the war. and yes, i would have. it wasnt derogatory in any way. the fact that u are saying soviet involvement stopped the war means u really need to up your knowledge.

I grew up in Japan. Lived there for 14 years and majority of what you have said is true. Bottom line is, the US dropped those bombs to end the war. They did not want to risk their ground troops and made the decision that dropping the bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki would save them from losing most of their troops. Now, if only they had the same view when it came to Vietnam.
