Thurman showed good intangibles and did two things only really good fighters do, and that's make adjustments and keep a cool head when things are going ugly. This should be a good lesson for him as he improves.

Thurman showed he isn't the bull he claims he is if you punch back and if willing/able he can be walked down but he also showed he's got really good movement/boxing to his game in order to maximize his attack.
