AT 37 Puerto Rican Manny Siaca is past his best but he should still prove a solid opponent for the Gold Coast’s Les Sherrington, currently ranked the No.10 contender for the WBO middleweight title.
The 185cm Siaca sprang a big upset when he used his height and reach advantages to deck and outpoint Anthony Mundine for the WBA super-middleweight title in 2004.
He has been stopped by Denmark’s Mikkel Kessler and by our own Danny Green in the years since but has won his last three fights in a row.
He still has a handy record of 25-7 (20 KOs). Sherrington is 32-6.
They fight at Southport Sharks AFL Club on September 20.
