This guy didn't get it. GBP/Haymon mafia activities at HBO are over. Showtime is cash strapped. They can't afford to fund building up Bertos, Canelos, Broners out of tomato cans like HBO did. They have no choice.

The HBO - GBP/Haymon split up is heaven sent to fans.

How'd you like that Mayweather Guerrero ppv card? How about Broner Malinaggi? I won't complain about Mayweather v. Canelo though, it's a good fight and they're actually putting up a terrific card; although it's only because their last ppv was a financial disaster.

So far HBO (in 2013) has given us:
      Rios Alvarado II (FOTY candidate)
      Bradley Provodnikov (FOTY candidate)
Froch v. Kessler (possible FOTY candidate)
      Stevenson v. Dawson (obvious KOTY)
      2 X GGG fights

and will give us the following fights later in the year:
      Marquez v. Bradley
Alvarado v. Provodnikov (likely FOTY candidate)
      Pacquiao v. Rios
      Kovalev v. Cleverly
1 or 2 more GGG fights

NOTE: I subscribe to both HBO and SHO as all true boxing fans should.

This is why HBO is number 3 (behind Showtime and NBC Sports) among the networks that broadcast boxing. They will Zou Shimming in his second pro bout against a nobody. They will show Nonito Donaire beating three stiffs in a year and pay him well. They will pay Pacquaio (who lost his last two fights) big bucks to fight against an overrated lightweight who lost his last fight. Yet, they won't pay for a fight featuring Ward, who has already beaten every quality fighter at 168. Once his contract is up with HBO and Goosen, I wouldn't be surprised if we see Ward on Showtime fighting under the GBP banner. Then, HBO will have to pray that Zou Shimming turns out to to be the star they hope he will be.

What Showtime has done is the same thing HBO used to do to Showtime -- allow their rival network to build a fighter's reputation and then steal the fighter from them. Broner and Alvarez are excellent examples.

the fact is, all hbo rejects are getting absorb by showtime.

in 2013 alone, hbo is starting to get rid of boring fighters. they started with fraud jr, rigo, and lately ward.

Anthony Dirrel just ko`ed Anthony Hanshaw in 3 rounds on the Berto/Karass undercard. He would be an excellent opponent for Ward next fight. But don`t hold your breaths for that fight. He was Ward`s mandatory last year but Ward said he was gonna give up his belt, and that he wasn`t interested in fighting him cause the networks "wouldn`t be interested in that fight".But then Anthony got in a car accident giving Ward a loophole. And Ward has fought unknown tomato cans on HBO and showtime so Ward was full of s**t.He ducked Anthony cause he knew how dangerous Anthony Dirrel was.

Ward is gonna cherrypick his next opponent and some of you gonna make excuses for him.

The only reason HBO don`t want to deal with Rigo is because he schooled Donaire-who HBO was trying to build as the next Pacquiao. And HBO did not kick Floyd out;Floyd left for Showtime`s bigger money offer, and Jim Lampley already said he was sad that Floyd left HBO.

The Klitschko brothers are the most boring boxers in boxing but yet HBO still want to broadcast them.

HBO is a showcase if Ward needs a tune up then let him run a local where he is and shake off the rust in a local 10 rounder! It doesn't have to be televised, all the champs from the past fought non titled bouts after an injury layoff so why not now? If he's scared of injury in a low pay event then shut up and set up a spar session for 12 days that will knock the rust off! Why the hell should HBO or any other promotion company pay out top dollar for a "shake out bout"! Tired of these guys again! Ray.
