    Any updates on Dmitry Pirog???

Dude was a tremendous talent, but he's been inactive for over a year now. I heard he had some injuries, does anyone know of the true nature of these?? Are they career threatening??

Was looking forward to seeing him in big fights after the way he took out Jacobs.

I heard he has had several back injuries in a row.

Probably from trying to lift all the roadblocks that Lou Di Bella put in the way of him getting a fight with Sergio.

There was word a couple months ago that he was on the comeback trail.

I say forget about him. He is done as a serious contender.

Former world middleweight champion, 32-year old Russian fighter Dmitry Pirog (20-0, 15KOs) is still hoping to return to the ring. He made serious noise when he blasted out Daniel Jacobs in five rounds back in July of 2010. He made several defenses and had a big fight lined up in 2012 against IBO/WBA champion Gennady Golovkin on HBO, but continued back injuries have prevented his return to the ring.
