Comments Thread For: Juan Manuel Lopez Targets December, January Return

Former two division champion Juan Manuel Lopez (33-3, 30KOs), 30-years-old, is looking to return on a date in December or January 2014. Lopez was knocked out in three rounds last month by Mikey Garcia. Garcia failed to make weight for that much and the bout still went forward. Lopez wants to capture at title at the super featherweight limit and plans to start training again next month.

"I will not return. I will start training again in August. I want to become a world champion again. I will fight at 130 and not return again to 126-pounds," Lopez said to Carlos Gonzalez.

At times Garcia had him looking like he forgot what his profession was, fuckin' retire man. Juanma gave one of the most pathetic displays of boxing against Garcia, squaring up, not moving his head, looking sluggish, I mean utterly pathetic, I don't know whether it's because of the wars but it seems he has no regard for the technical aspect of boxing.

You must really not like Juanma. Mares don't hit as hard and he will take a lot of hits before he is out. Lopez's balance is non-existent as of late

like him a lot actually...well , he fought a very methodical fighter in mikey .. mares is a strategist , not a methodical imo and im intruiged how he deals with an impatient fighter who can **** ...if you cant hurt juanma in which i dont expect mares to do , i think he can still make it a hell of a fight ...

Lopez is done. It is his choice but I think he can really get hurt if he continues especially against World Title Talents.
