Sergio ‘Yeyo’ Thompson is hard at work in Los Angeles as he prepares for his WBC super-featherweight world title clash against Takashi Miura on August 17.
The Mexican is spending his second camp in the United States and is training under the watchful eye of the experienced Clemente Medina as well as engaging in top sparring with Julián ‘El Camarón’ Ramírez and Emmanuel Medina, his trainer’s son.
Thompson caught the attention of the boxing public in March 2012 when he upset Jorge Linares in two rounds, a fight which opened many doors for the Quintana Roo native.
Now the biggest moment of his career has arrived at a time in which he feels he is in the best form of his life.
