Comments Thread For: Bedak's Promoter Eyes Rigondeaux Clash For Sept. 13

Hungarian promoter Felix Racz would like to secure WBO and WBA super bantamweight champ Guillermo Rigondeaux for a title defense against Hungarian Zsolt Bedak (18-1, 6KOs) - with September 13 in Budapest as working date. Rigondeaux´s manager Gary Hyde is still trying, along with Top Rank's CEO Bob Arum, to get a HBO date. But if they don't secure a date on HBO then this could be a plan B with a defense in Europe against Bedak. Another scenario is having Rigondeaux defend his titles on the Manny Pacquiao-Brandon Rios HBO pay-per-view undercard on November 23rd in Macau, China.

all i remember of this guy is there being a very minor altercation at the weigh in or press conference when he fought vazquez jr. I can't even recall ever hearing his name again after that. If this is the best fight Rigo can get under TR he needs to get out of his contract somehow, he doesn't have much time left at the elite level.

If Bob could just take his thumb out of his a$$ for one second. He might could work on (@122)Rigo vs Frampton, Santa Cruz, Quigg, Romero, or Tomoki K. Or try to get Yamanaka, Agbeko, K-Kameda or Moreno to move up. I'd like any of those fights. But knowing Bob he'd probably give us Rigo vs Arce, Vic, Montiel, or Nishioka.

It's crazy how he can't get on one of the ppv cards when the 2 cards have garbage undercard fights.

He needs to hook up with Al Haymon or Goldenboy.. He did say he appreciates Mayweather skill, these guys need to pick him up. It's really infuriating how this guy is getting treated for doing his job well..

I would think that if hbo doesnt want to give him a slot, then top rank could at least put him on that pacman ppv card i mean most of those card are crappy anyways you cant tell me that you cant find him a spot there
