If Floyd does win it wouldn't he be the 1st boxer to win it in 3 diff decades

Tho I think Lucas will deserve it more if both he and Floyd win
Why would he deserve it more? Canelo and Guerrero> Dallas Jr., Peterson and Garcia.

I agree that it'll be the winner of the Canelo and Floyd fight, however I believe those victors would be deserving.

For his legacy's sake, this is what will probably happen.

My personal FOTY would be GGG (if he fights 5 times), or the Garcia/Matthysse winner.

It deserves to be the winner of Garcia/Matthysse, but the Canelo/Mayweather winner will get it

If Matthyse beats Garcia he should win it no doubt

Nope, but let's say he KO's Mora (who's never been KO'ed) and Murray or the Geale/Barker winner. I think he would be a worthy candidate. It's pretty much unheard of for a top fighter to fight 5 times. Nonito got it last year for fighting 4 times and it's not like the opposition had much chance of beating him, so I think GGG would be a realistic option.

But this year with it already half over, the award is wide open..
look at this fighters and possible scenarios...
                  1. Floyd beats canelo like he did ghost it will be very impressive, beating #1 contender at welter and then beating young stud like canelo
                  2. Canelo beating trout and if he beats floyd would have to be FOTY.. That would be a huge year for any fighter
                  3. Rigo he already dismantled top5 p4p guy in doniare and if he can get another quality win
                  4. lucas has already blown out peterson and adding danny garcia would be a huge year
                  5. GGG if he can land a victory over murray or geale would have been on a rampage this year...
                  6. Mikey Garcia has cleaned out featherweight and one more big name fight like gamboa or rocky would make him a darkhorse...
Yeah its up in the air as of right now . It'll probably be decided before December. If Canelo beats Floyd Vice Versa they'd definitely be at the top of the list. GGG is deserving of FOTY if he can fight a big name in his next fight, if he can't his wins will be overshadowed by Floyd/Canelo

Lucas/Danny Winner becomes the runner up in my opinion.

                  Floyd/Canelo winner wins FOTY!

If Lucas destroys Garcia and Floyd does to Canelo what he did to Guerrero, then yea he deserves it, Guerrero hasnt even beaten a ranked fighter since Katsidis, think about that, Peterson beat Khan who was #1. Garcia also KO'd Khan, who was better then Canelo's close win over Trout.

Just because they're hyped doesnt mean they're better
