Comments Thread For: Gavin Rees Has Yet To Make a Decision on His Future

British lightweight contender Gavin Rees has not made a decision regarding his future in the sport. Earlier this year he was knocked out by Adrien Broner and then a few months later he lost a decision to rival Anthony Crolla. Rees' trainer, Gary Lockett, says the boxer still has a future in the sport.

“We were out together for a beer but I had no intention to even ask Gavin about his future, that’s something we’ll discuss in good time. One thing is for certain, there are still fights out there for Gavin, he’s not without challenges, that’s for sure," Lockett told scribe Michael Pearlman.

Rees should never have vacated the British & European titles, he could have made a reasonable living defending those. He may be 33 now, but Marsili just picked up the EBU title @ 37.

Rees has plenty more left in the tank! He's fought at world level and was knocked back down to domestic level by Kotelnik, he then fought his way back through domestic level and took on Broner at world level. He's now back at domestic but he's only young, I'm sure he can do it again! Keep going Rock..... another big payday and then call it a day!

Rees beat Crolla imo they robbed him that night. It should have been him getting the Burns shot.

why did broner fight this guy? that made zero sense. that was the last straw for hbo. they were tired of creating more bertos and cut the cord shortly after that. no more free million dollars mothafu-ckers!

Wasn't Rees a top 10 LW at the time? He was just way too small for Broner who was like Chavez Jr. in that division.

That fight remains HBO's highest viewed fight of this year, so I don't think they were too mad about it
