Lucas Matthysse (34-2, 32KOs) will finally get the fight he's been pushing for on September 14th at the MGM Grand, when he challenges Danny Garcia (26-0, 16KOs) for the WBC/WBA junior welterweight titles. The main event will feature a junior middleweight battle between Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Saul "Canelo" Alvarez.
"I was promised this fight [with Garcia] a while ago. I was told after I beat Peterson that I could get Garcia, but there were so many hurdles. But finally we closed [the deal] and now we are going to fight on September 14," said Matthysse during a radio appearance in Argentina. "I have been training very well for twenty days or so, doing a good job, and now on Monday we go to the lagoon at the Posada del Sol to concentrate until September."
