ive seen the fight like 9 times u can see james is off balance falling back and roy try's to punch him and scuffs his head that is how bad a puncher roy jones is
your just a hater. calling roy an awful puncher is an insult to the sport
Toney was absoutely embarassed in that fight. Some people are discrediting Jones for that win because Toney wasn't in his 100% shape, but who's fault is that? Also, Roy suffering a broken right hand weeks before the fight, but people forget to bring that up. Just shows you how much of a talent Roy was in his prime.
Toney was weighing 222lbs when he went into camp for Jones, he had six weeks to get down to 168.
For Prince Charles, Toney had eight weeks to get down to 168 from 180.
james toney's last fight before roy was at 168 pounds. if he let himself get to that weight, than hes an idiot. roy schooled him bad and would have any day of the week
Richard Steel is one of the worst ref in history. I've seen it over 100 times, I don't think I need to see it. Why don't you make a poll with the clip & lets see what everyone thinks.
steele is a great ref who has far over 100 championship fights under his belt. toney was off balance and going down after that hook. he then grabbed the rope in order to keep himself up, constituting a knockdown
LOL!! Damn in that clip that was shown it was in slow motion and when Roy leaped in with the hook it still looked fast. Ask Iceman Scully about this, he knew both fighters. He said the domination was purely stylistic and even if James was in tip-top shape it wouldnt have mattered much. The things that make James great would never come to the forefront vs. Roy!
James put him self off balance clowing, and Roy leaped in with a quick hook that put him down.
It was a knock down.
Was he hurt? Not at all, but he was knocked down.
are you serious? you just posted the clip of roy jumping on toneys back and used it to prove that it was a knockdown. i think you are one of the best posters on bs, but this time i dont see it.

He doesn't jump on his back. He leaps forward and lands a shot on his chin. That's where the 1st impact was made. It was a quick shot Toney wan't prepared for.
It clipped him, and sent him down because he was off balance. There are several angles if you have the brodcast.
