Why the hell should Andre Ward fight? He's clearly p4p #1 and no one else in his respective weight class has even the slightest chance of beating him. Why would he waste his time with someone who isn't at least ranked p4p #2? I say he should wait on the sidelines until mid 2014 before we even have a conversation about a possible opponent.

He's also trying to play the victim role in his contract dispute with Goosen when he's not it at all. a year out of the ring is like kryptonite for a fighter. i'd like to see my andre in a stay busy fight.
i think they're electing to stay out of the ring in part because of the possiblity of ward's hands or other injuries getting hurt in a stay busy fight. if you're not a knockout puncher you're probably going 12, and that's a long time for your hands to get broken, especially when you land so clean so often. i think he wants to take one or two big fights a year at this stage, and they don't seem to be out there.
