The Cuban system is the best in boxing, they have produced an incredible amount of talent.

Given their situation, in terms of escaping the country, most of them are simply kept from showing their ability in the pro rannks. A guy like Rigo would have accomplished amazing things in the pro's had he been able to turn pro earlier.

Both countries were already rich in boxing history before internet forums existed. Maybe you need a history lesson.

^ to name the two of the best. unique, incredible fighters, those two.

mantequilla napoles was a cuban, but he had to move to mexico to fight pro and have a real following. castro banned pro boxing in cuba during napoles' early years.

he lived and fought out of mexico, with his biggest fights taking place primarily in the united states, and he was stopped by monzon in france. i don't really consider him a "cuban boxer," but he's probably the best ever cuban born boxer.

cubans in america don't support pro boxers. it sucks, but it's the truth. hopefully that will change.
