He knew why he wasn't throwing combos b ecause if he did he would have got ko'd. You throw combos against a counter puncher you leave yourself open to big counters coming back. Those counters were hurting donaire and he was scared to open up and throw. You can throw combos on scrubs who don't have skill and can't counter. That's why these fighters with no defense rarely fight counter punchers. Donaire has offense not great defense you need both. Cause you have to account for whats coming back at you well you don't if your promoter keeps you away from counter punchers.

Lately there's been too many posts about a fighters style, I mean really.. we're deep into the years of the sport and people still act shocked that there are fighters who prefer to box on the outside..

Donaire You got exposed by a smaller fighter, Now the weight is an issue, but when he's overweighting them by a lot, and knocks them out cause of the extra weight being in his advantage, no excuses.. Gets schooled and now it's an issue. Rigo beats you in any weight.. The only way he doesn't beat you is if you and bring him up two weight divisions to fight.. F.U. Donaire..exposed and a blueprint is now made for ur dumbazz.

Look at the 12th round, Donaire ran with a glove over his eye in fear.. He didn't want to **** because he knew it was smart thing to do. He was a coward in that fight.. Yet everyone blame Rigondeaux for how the fight didn't have much action.. Why? The guy outweighs him, taller than him, longer reach and he didn't want to fight but throw one K.O blow and didn't want to exchange.
I don't know what fight you were watching.

"As a fighter of course you want that. (A rematch) is what you want. It's just a matter of getting the weight settled. I'm not going to lie. I'm 145 pounds right now. The last time I had a lot of issues going up in weight even though I didn't eat too much. If I properly do it I can probably get down to 122.
"In two months I will know. If I get down to 130 that's my goal. If I can't then it's going to be hell to make 122. It would be like (when I used to ) go down to 112. You know me. I'm willing to fight anybody. I don't turn fights down," Donaire stated.

A little shake and bake is fine, but throw punches! If you don't, don't get mad that only a few hardcore holdouts actually want to see you fight.
Donaire pushes the action even if he's a natural counter puncher.. because that's just how he's wired. He will bounce back strong and have a very successful career.
