WBC/WBA junior welterweight champion Danny Garcia (26-0, 16KOs) will meet the toughest opponent of his career on September 14th, as he defends his titles against mandatory challenger Lucas Matthysse (34-2, 32KOs) on the Floyd Mayweather Jr. vs. Saul Alvarez undercard on September 14th at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

IBF light heavyweight champion Bernard Hopkins, a Philadelphian like Garcia, discussed the match with Matthysse. Hopkins is giving Garcia a very good shot to win.

He's wrong. You can't make Garcia into Floyd overnight. Don't be there???? Garcia's style is the same as Matthysse's. They meet and punish their opponents. Garcia's strategy would be to get his shots in first, expect to take some hits but ensure they're not flush. In other words, he has to focus on finishing Matthysse because no way in hell can he "not be there" for 12 rounds!

Bernard is basically saying that Danny Boy should change his style in order to beat Matthysse. That's not gonna work because Danny is flat footed and is easy to be hit.

I just can't see Danny winning this fight. Every punch that Matthysse lands on you has an impact. Matthysse is gonna kill him inside 6 tops.

Garcia better raise his hands and not telegraph those slow body hooks. Can't see Garcia winning this one but this will be the most entertaining fight of the night without a doubt.
