  • Comments Thread For: Vitali Klitschko Worries Povetkin Will Dump Wladimir

WBC heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko, is worried that Alexander Povetkin (26-0, 18KOs) will withdraw from the scheduled fight with his younger brother, WBO/IBO/WBA/IBF champion Wladimir Klitschko (60-3, 51KOs), taking place on October 5th at Olympic Stadium in Moscow, Russia.

Earlier this week it was Wladimir who expressed some concern that Povetkin would withdraw. In recent years, Povetkin withdrew from two scheduled fights with Wladimir. But this time around there is $23 million dollars on the table, courtesy of purse bid winner Vladimir Hryunov.

If Povetkin pulls out again I will meet up with Doc Brown, hop in the Delorean and tell his father to pull out.

They have to strip him if he refuses or pulls out and give the belt to someone more deserving or just make the belt vanish, There should never be 2 heavyweight champions in the same orginazation.

        This.

Get shot of these paper titles, there's too many organisations as it is.

Who can blame them ffs? I think Povetkin will end up fighting against Wlad, but wouldn't surprise me if he tried to get out. But with that kind of money on the table, ***ing hell, I would fight Wlad.

Heck I've seen the WBA have 3 "champs" in the same division. "Super" champ, "Regular" champ, and "Interim" champ. These alphabet organizations must go.

Yes that would be perfect, but in the heavyweight division especially there should always be 1 stand out guy instead of a crowd of paper champions like what happened in the 2000's. When/ if the Klitschko's retire there will be the WBC , WBA super, IBF, WBO, IBO and Ring magazine belts all vacant plus with that regular WBA heavyweight belt and any interims what a mess it is going to be! Hope it does not take years for someone to sweep up.

                  ONE!!!

Two, three, four or twenty it doesn't matter. They are just titlists unless there is one!
