I don't see why people make this out like its a hard fight to call. Should still be exciting, but Matthysse wins this fight easy. Garcia might make it good by lasting until late in the fight. But there won't be any doubt who's winning.

The only guys who can beat Matthysse are highly skilled slick boxers who can last all 12 rounds because they know how to not get hit (i.e. Judah, Alexander). Garcia is definitely NOT that.

I'm realist, that said, Garcia will do no better than Lamont Peterson. I'm expecting a phantom injury and the fight to never happen ( it's only a marketing ploy), but if it does, it will be very short.

I think he's probably referring to Lucas's two tough decision losses, which have taken a bit of the shine off his last couple of years...On that note, I believe Matthysse will handle Garcia a little easier than most expect. He's gonna land something early, and as Danny showed late in the Judah fight, if he gets clipped, he's gonna try and fire back like a warrior. Unfortunately for him, in that situation, he was winging wildly and looked a little bit amateurish...Lucas will make him pay.
Also Matthysse has noticeably improved his attack on the inside, where he is now throwing shots as he turns his opponent. He's getting great leverage and power when he employs that technique...I just don't see Danny standing up to Lucas's kind of power.

This is a GREAT analogy, especially for someone like me that saw that match live and really loved pro wrestling growing up. Kudos to you for this one.

You hit it on the head. I grew up in the WWF era. I have always thought of this as the greatest wrestling match of time. I watched it live on pay per view. I went back and watched it on youtube about a year ago.

Steamboat-Savage was the best ever. Don't watch anymore, but I'd probably still watch that.

Matthysse-Garcia will be more like an old Goldberg "match."

This is THE fight

I hadn't planned on forking out $70 to watch Mayweather easily take apart the overrated Alvarez, but with Garcia vs Mattysee added to it I'll pay up for it. That fight should actually be the headliner. Throw in Broner vs Maidana and maybe Donaire vs Darchyian II and it would be reminiscent of the old Grand Slam Of Boxing cards from the 90s.
