    WHy not fight Mosley?

Whatever. Dont even need to watch this one. I liked Gomez a lot back in the day, outside of him retiring Gatti and Castillo, but to be honest i figured the dude was retired.

Lame opponent but give the guy a break. He could use a win. Needs to get his confidence back I guess. Got KO by Floyd for being ****** and got his jaw broken by Josesito. Who hasn't won a fight since that fight. I laughed when people thought he would fight RG or Cotto in his return. If anything I thought it would be a Josesito rematch or somebody who wasn't a real legit threat to him.

Gomez will give him a solid test. Ortiz is going to have to show up. He takes Gomez lightly and he will be on a 3 fight losing streak. Lets not forget Ortiz is the same guy that got stopped by Josesito Lopez! Your only as good as your last fight. This fight isn't a mismatch until and unless Ortiz proves otherwise. He is so much of a wildcard i wouldn't be surprised if he went life and death with Gomez. The elite stop Gomez by round 6. Lets see how Ortiz does before we start lining him up with the other top dogs.

That sounds about right for a comeback opponent. Ortiz should win, hopefully he can focus, the potential is still there.

Yea ortiz is coming off of two losses but he didn't straight up lose either of those fights. He was gettin on floyd's ass when b*tchass floyd cheapshotted him. Then he was winning the lopez fight when he got his jaw broke. So in reality he's just had some bad luck, not necessarily been truly beaten in his last two last fights.

A cheapshot would imply that it was illegal, sort of like that blatant headbutt frustrated ol' Ortiz threw at Mayweather against the ropes. People always seem to forget would led to that 2 piece special.

That's what I'm hoping. That rematch has been on the top of my Christmas wish list for too long now.

I wanted to see Ortiz vs Mosley initially. Thought that would have been interesting actually.

Wow, you really recognize how shot Shane is at this point to say a fight with Sugar Shane against Victor Ortiz would be a toss up or interesting.....

Don't sleep on Gomez here. The guy has only ever been blown away by one fighter, prime Miguel Cotto, and he came into that fight with a broken hand and off a serious training camp illness that required a hospital stay. Everyone else that has beaten him has had a rough go of it in the process. He's a better boxer in terms of technique than Victor, he comes to fight every time, throwing a lot of punches, fighting intelligently, and with a lot of heart, a trait that Ortiz has lacked in most of his fights. I think he'll pull the upset, but either way, if the fight isn't competitive at the least I would be surprised.
