Mayweather Promotions CEO Leonard Ellerbe can't wait to see WBC/WBA 140-pound champion Danny Garcia (26-0, 16KOs) defend his titles against mandatory challenger Lucas Matthysse (34-2, 32KOs). The fight was officially announced on Thursday and takes place on the Floyd Mayweather vs. Saul Alvarez undercard on September 14th at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. Both fights will be televised by Showtime PPV.

Most fans believed Garcia was trying to shy away from Matthysse. Ellerbe says the two-belt champion requested Matthysse.

I disagree. If Garcia wanted the fight so badly why were there talks for a rematch with Judah. I've been high in Matthysse for a while now and I was never a pac tard. I understand part of this fight taking so long to be made was money. I don't blame Danny, I hope he gets well paid for this fight because he's in for a whooping.

There's no reason to congratulate Garcia for "stepping up", there shouldn't have been any other option for him to take. It's the perfect time for this bout to take place and with the whole world watching on Sept. 14, these two fighters are gonna shine.

from now to september 14 is a long time...we've seen fights not happen due to injuries, some resulted in not happening at all .. so until i see them guys in the ring , im expecting **** to happen ...hope im wrong ...
