Comments Thread For: Team Melindo: Estrada is Tough, But We Are Tougher

Undefeated Milan Melindo, the mandatory challenger for the WBO flyweight title of Mexico’s Juan Franciscio Estrada is prepared for war against the champion who won the WBO/WBA titles with an impressive win over Brian Viloria last April 6 in Macau.

Melindo will face Estrada at the same Cotai Arena in the Venetian Resort Hotel and Casino but isn’t fazed by the challenge.

ALA Promotions premier trainer Edito “Ala” Villamor told BoxingScene.com/Manila Standard they would leave for Macau on Sunday “to wind down training, adjust to the climate and environment and get ready for war.”

War Estrada. This kid is good and is still just a kid. Very promising.

Estrada will beat Melindo. Melindo has skills and I think will probably give Estrada some trouble, but he isn't as good as Gonzalez or Sanchez jr. Estrada has only lost to two world class fighters and he gave good account for himself in both bouts.

Estrada beats Viloria again and will crush Marquez. I think he beats Yaegashi too. The only fighters I see giving Estrada problems is Gonzalez when he moves up or Ioka in a year or two when he moves up. That's if Estrada is still at 112. He's big for flyweight and I could see him moving up soon.

estrada was impressive against viloria...he looked like a different fighter than the estrada who fought gonzales.

maybe he was affected by the lower weight against gonzales because he didn't look as strong and fast.

Estrada is tough but I think Milan will take him on the night of July 27 basing this on their records. Estrada fought some good fighters just like Roman Gonzales but he put Estrada to where he should belong. Juan Carlos Sanchez with mediocre record of 11-1-1 did not give him chance of winning. His other opponents were nobodies and considered journeymen. The only notable win he got was his last fight against the most experienced and talented Viloria but that was not his night and nothing especial from his other loses. Whereas Milan had fought more fighters with a bit impressive records and they ends up respecting Milan as the better Flyweight fighter! My take, Milan will hammer Estrada from 6th to the later rounds by KO or TKO!

Estrada has this one. He lost to Gonzalez in a very competitive match and IMO Chocolatito is one of the most underrated boxers right now, the guy is a beast at his weight class. Then he beat Viloria, who was top 10 P4P by many guys here, in dominant fashion, in fact Viloria only survived because of his great chin and preparation.

Melindo is a decent boxer but he hasn't faced anyone like Estrada before, so IMO Estrada should be able to clearly beat Melindo.

IMO he looked great vs Gonzalez, it could have gone either way.
