    This is why I've never been to big on Hopkins.
    They need to set an actual limit on how many times you can hold per round.
    Like 3 or something.

      I heard Cortez was retired but am not sure about this. Cortez was for a long time the best referee in boxing. But obviously that changed and he lost it over time. Perhaps refs like everybody else have a prime and after time cannot perform as they once did. Guy like Mils Lane were smart getting out when they did and others like Richard Steele, who believe it or not, also was once a good referee for a good while, stayed at it too long.

          Depends, if a ref ducks no fight and refs toe to toe, then his career may be shorter. Refs who cherrypick fights and don't have a crowd pleasing style last longer.

                    Cortez is probably the worst big fight ref ever. His involvement in fights was ridiculous, he actually changed the pace of fights. You'd think he was a WWE Ref by how much he gets involved
