  • Comments Thread For: Bryant Jennings: Haye vs. Fury is a Battle of Glass Chins

BoxingScene.com caught up with heavyweight contender Bryant Jennings during last week's edition of ESPN Friday Night Fights in Las Vegas, Nevada. Some interesting fights are on the horizon in the heavyweight division and I asked the undefeated Philadephia based fighter for his opinion on the upcoming clashes.

Jennings feels that both David Haye and Tyson Fury are flawed fighters but feels that Haye will pull off the victory in their September tilt.

"I got David Haye winning but both of their chins are questionable. David Haye has a lot more speed. A lot more athleticism. Tyson Fury is a lot tougher. He has heart and he has a strong will but there are two glass chins in there," Jennings stated. [Click Here To Read More]

he hasn't got an iron chin but he's been hit with a few big shots as a heavy and has taken them. Wlad connected with a couple that clearly hurt but if he has an Amir kahn chin that would have been lights out.

Yeah, but it's very very hard to have a McCall chin when someone 240+ is punching you in the face. Most heavies would go down.

He's got an OK chin, but again, the best chin is the one not getting hit. And not many gets hit less than Haye in a fight.

I rewatched the Wlad fight yesterday, and honestly have no idea how Haye wasn't knocked out. I'd say he's got a pretty good chin, and is hard to KO with one punch. Some of the shots Wlad landed rocked Haye's head around like he was in a car crash- i'm not sure i've seen anyone hit that hard and react as well as Haye did.

            Agree. Haye's chin isn't a problem.

It was his chin and stamina at cruiser - look at the knock downs at cruiser and his first lost due to stamina. People have to understand that when you drain the body and regain that weight within 24hrs, it messes you up. That is why Floyd and Bhop walk around maybe 5 - 7 pds over their fight weight maybe even closer, so they are stong on fight night, they can focus and concentrate in camp on the game plan and technique.

Unfortunately people don't understand. You get one or two Kds in your career and you have a bad chin. It's laughable, really.

Haye does get hit. He didn't get hit as much as I thought he would against Wlad because he was focused solely on defence and Valuev couldn't hit water if he was standing on a boat. He got touched a lot by Chisora and got hit in the Barret/Ruiz fights.
