Rigondeaux vs HBO

I got the impression that HBO is just not going to get behind Rigo, and make him a "house fighter," by making him the A-side against less-than-desirable opposition. In that, they aren't going to give him "showcase" fights like they would to somebody like Donaire.

So they aren't saying they will outright not televise Rigo's fights.

So unless he's fighting somebody they think will make for a great fight, they won't give him slots to beat up on guys with no chance.

Why the assumption that the winner (Rigondeaux) is not going to do well in his next fight? What proof can HBO present which states Rigondeaux is a marketing failure post Donaire win?

It couldn't be because of Donaire now, could it? The guy that's BEEN fighting on HBO?

Maybe to casual let the blood fly fans but i love watching Rigo the man is a master fck hbo anyway they have 10 times the money showtime has but yet showtime ****s on them year after year .

I think it was because he took donaire to school, you can tell hbo was upsey & quickly started to downplay the win by saying donaire was weight drain & did train properly, his shoulder, baby on the way. Hbo just want brawler on their network, except for Ward who they praise for trying hard on the Dawson fight to knock him out.

I understand your opinion on this matter. But why the quick assumptions by HBO?

It's the most basic assumption, I'm not one of those guys who wears tin foil hats and think that the world is a great conspiracy.
