But why is he completely being set aside from the network? Surely you understand the amount of times boxers winning so-so decisions have been given another date on HBO.

He only has 12 fights, so now that he dismantled the top guy, he'll have to work backwards. He got the date because he was fighting Donaire and he was the B-side. It seems like HBO doesn't want to take the risk and make him the A-side of an HBO Championship or B.A.D. card.

No one credible at 122, unwilling to move to 126....he is boring to listen to and not great to look at. He doesn't speak english and he's from cuba. His amateur style isn't appealing at all.... you can say he's a counter puncher but he throws very few punches per round on top of all that (Floyd and JMM are counter punches with a much higher output). There's nothing marketable about him....to top it all off he's old. There are so many things against him and almost nothing going for him.

For Rigo to get a fight soon, he will have to wait for Donaire(which I doubt happens) or take a huge paycut while basically taking a tune up fight.

Because they are in the business of making money and they do not believe he can draw viewers. It may not be fair but for a business like HBO it's the bottom line!

Let Showtime and Goldenboy pick him up so he can fight Mares, and let them continue with their stable of losers who can't fight legitimate boxers(Not including Alvarado, Rios, Bradley, Marquez, and Pacquiao). Showtime is where it's at right now..

Please! I love Rigo, even if people do not like his style. I mean I seen most of his fights and he knocks dudes down etc. He's entertaining to watch. He just didn't look good in the Donaire fight and that one fight where he fought on the undercard of Pac/Margarito. Well, from what I seen. I like the guy, so yeah I'll watch him.

I would love to see GBP pick Rigo up, but Arum isn't going to let go of him that easily.

HBO is trying to work with a budget, and they don't want to put up money for a "boring" Rigondeaux fight. We, as fanatics of the sweet science, love to see him, but let's face it, he's not a crowd pleaser.

At the moment, they're working with a limited stable, so I think they're trying to focus on having the more exciting fights.

Even so, I don't think I've ever seen that... an up-and-comer beats the top guys, but they decide not to show his next fight. Meanwhile, they'll show Donaire's next fight?

Rigo got a rather large purse for the Donaire fight... the problem is if he's looking to make that ever go out he has no shot of ever landing a fight regardless of who it is....a paycut indeed.
