Aaron Pryor would probably be competetive with most 168lbers today, let alone the junior welterweight division (slight hyperbole here).
You just get a sense that he was physically, tremendously strong compared to fighters today. All those guys in that era were. And this isn't just blind nostalgia either - I don't think the guys from the 30's and 40's would do well at all compared to guys today, but the 80's were different. That was the decade when boxing was at its best. -

I think he would clean out both weight classes. His work rate, chin, and "don't give a damn" attitude would be too much for the current fighters to deal with. Can you imagine him and Pacquiao slugging out for 12 rounds? Or Mayweather trying to pot-shot against him? When it comes to being hated, he was the real deal. No made up persona. Pryor would definitely be able to deal with anyone in these weight classes today.Comment

Mayweather would box his ears off at 147 today....when floyd was in his prime at 140...he beat him worse.
Matthysse has a punchers chance but he is a bit too reserved at times with his attack.
Garcia would get outworked and overwhelmed, Khan stopped, Guerrero outsped...Maidana would be a war....Alexander would be interesting considering he has yet to reach his peak and is improving.
Pacquaio would be a close call depends on his punch resistance...marquez is 50/50...Bradley is close.
Pryor is a bit overrated at timesComment

he has the speed, workrate, chin, and stamina to beat everyone
JWW has action fighters right now, not defensively inclined guys
Pryor gets a war with all of them and outlasts them
because Lucas can hit, he has a chance to win
but Lucas has slow spots that Pryor can exploit, favor Pryor there
at WW, only Floyd could challenge Pryor
assuming Pryor is the same man at WW as at JWW
and even Floyd isn't a shoe in to win, Pryor's style is a foilComment
