People are saying its a good fight considering.. Considering what!? He only fought about 6 weeks after he was due to fight a top 147er.. Why did he need another gatekeeper fight and a 10 round catchweight at that??

Word around the camp fire is Brook doesn't train right, struggles to make weight properly and needs to buck his ideas up asap.
Translation = conclusion I have drawn from listening to people like Frank Warren and Steve Bunce???

Kell broke his foot and hasn't trained properly for months, this fight wasn't for a title so he didnt need to kill himself to make 147.
It was a tune up fight plain and simple.
He dominated every round and got the stoppage, he looked a level above Jones all night. Not sure what the criticism is really?
He is supposedly having a big fight in September so I think he has to be judged on that rather than what we saw Saturday night.

There are quite a few quotes and apparent facts from Warren that paint an interesting picture of Kell and his team. Like I said, I'm not one to ever side with Warren and I'm not "siding" with him here, but I think some of what he has said can be taken into account with the recent issues Kell Brook has had.

He did look a level above Carson Jones all night, but I don't put the Carson Jones of today much above top domestic/european level. So I dont give Kell Brook any kudos for beating him over 8 rounds at 152lbs when we're being told he's ready for and among the elite at 147lbs.

I used to like Kell Brook a lot and thought he could develop into a top world level fighter. I don't anymore. No smoke without fire, and everything I see and hear points towards him not having it in him mentally to be an elite level boxer. I think he will get exposed badly if he ever steps up against a top 10 147lb fighter.

        The Ring 147lbs rankings:

        Lineal: Floyd Mayweather

        1. Juan Manuel Marquez

        2. Manny Pacquiao

        3. Kell Brook

        4. Tim Bradley

        5. Devon Alexander

        6. Robert Guerrero

        7. Adrien Broner

        8. Paulie Malignaggi

        9. Keith Thurman

        10. Marcos Maidana

In my humble opinion all of the other fighters on that list beat Kell Brook, some really badly. Also, its comical that Kell Brook is ranked 3rd, but there you go, he apparently deserves to be eating at the top table so go fight some top level opponents Kell. His CV to date is laughable, biggest name on there is probably Matthew Hatton!

It is strange to see him at number 3 but wasn't Khan ranked like 4th at 147 by the WBC despite never having fought at the weight?

He is still mandatory for Devons belt and will be in line to fight Khan once HE takes it in December.

Brook still has a lot to prove but I think if he knuckles down stays active (against bigger names) he will very quickly rise in that division.

As for your list Broner, Pacquiao & Mayweather beat him at this stage but I give him a shot in any of the others. 'cept perhaps Bradley as Uncle Bob has his back.
